Valet parking means handing your car over at the terminal to someone who parks it for you. How it works at Lisbon Airport, what it costs, where to meet.

Valet parking means handing your car over at the terminal door to someone who parks it for you, and getting it back in the same place when you return. You never go to a car park, you never look for a space and you never walk with your luggage.

It is the service that raises the most questions, because it means leaving your vehicle and your key with a stranger. This guide explains exactly how it works at Lisbon Airport.

How it works when you leave

You go straight to the terminal you are flying from, without going to the car park.

At Terminal 1, the meeting point is the Kiss & Fly area at Departures. At Terminal 2, it is the Departures area.

Call the operations line, +351 915 489 501, about 15 to 20 minutes before you arrive, so the member of staff is already waiting when you pull up. You will recognise them by the vest and the Check-in Park badge.

The handover takes a few minutes: we confirm the booking details, record the mileage and the condition of the vehicle in photos and video, take the key and you sign. Then you go to check-in and the vehicle goes to the car park.

How it works when you come back

The return is always at Terminal 1, Departures, at the Kiss & Fly — even if you left from Terminal 2. Handover is quicker there, because that is where you can stop.

Call the same number as soon as you have your luggage. We bring the vehicle to the meeting point and hand it over with the key.

That is when you pay, by card, cash or MB WAY, and it is also the right moment to check the vehicle with the member of staff present, if you notice anything you do not recognise.

What it costs

Valet adds 15 € to the booking, once, with drop-off and return included. It is not per person and not per day.

On top of that comes parking: 6 € per 24-hour period for a car, with a 20 € minimum per booking, and a monthly rate of 120 € from 20 days.

A 3-day weekend with valet comes to 35 €: 20 € of parking plus 15 €. A week comes to 57 €.

Transfer, where you leave the vehicle at the car park and the van takes you to the terminal, adds 5 € instead of 15 €.

What happens to the key and the vehicle

With valet the key stays with us, because it is needed to take the vehicle to the car park and bring it back to the terminal. It is kept in a safe monitored 24 hours a day. Anyone who prefers to keep the key has to choose transfer, where that is possible.

The vehicle stays at our car park, which is private, fenced, lit, with video surveillance and security present 24 hours a day. We carry civil liability insurance and a fire protection plan.

At check-in the mileage and the condition of the vehicle are recorded, in photos and video, so they can be compared on your return. It protects both sides.

Valet or transfer: which to choose

Choose valet if you want the shortest route, if you travel with children or heavy luggage, or if you are tight on time. You pay 10 € more than with transfer and you never go to the car park.

Choose transfer if you want the lowest price, if you want to keep your key, or if you drive a motorhome, a camper, a van 2 metres or taller or a motorbike — in those cases valet is not available, for reasons of circulation at the terminal.

If you have booked one and prefer the other, just tell us before you travel: we change it at no cost.
